This is a recruiting notice of the USC Soccer Society for the 2009 fall semester. We are going to have this week's weekend game (6:30pm Saturday/Today) "Welcome Games" for the new members and people who want to stop by and see what we really are. Please check the link at the very bottom for the game field location.

USC Soccer Society History

Some of you may know that the USC Soccer Society have been starting to play soccer every weekend (usually Saturday afternoon) regularly since 2000 or even earlier. Furthermore, we recently launched the weekday game and there will be soccer game on every Wednesday afternoon too (usually after 5:00pm depending on the sunset time).

The USC Soccer Society is composed by about 20 regular plays who come every time, and 10~15 infrequent players. We are one great family and welcomes fresh blood into the team every now and then, please come and join us if you like playing soccer. We play for Fun and Fitness Without Competition , so don't worry about anything. Although currently the main population of this soccer society are Chinese students, we are still a diversity group with people from the US, Thailand, Turkey and Hispanic countries.

今年哥伦比亚国际节，新增了“世界杯”足球赛项目，咱们踢球联盟准备组织一只球队代表中国队参赛。孔子学院将为咱们支持250元的注册费用，并提供给咱们比赛T恤（带号码）。具体的比赛信息请查看下面的图片。

比赛将于4月10号星期六开始，进行循环赛（因此周六那天可能咱们会有多场比赛），比赛地点在学校南边DMV附近的机场旁边的体育场。

如果能出线，淘汰赛将于4月17号星期六开始。决赛与4月18号中午2点进行。

【熊猫队】南卡大学09秋季学期室内足球联赛路程回顾

在今天傍晚进行的第二场淘汰赛中，熊猫队以2：4不敌医学院的M4队，止步16强，但熊猫队为观众献上了一场精彩的比赛，顽强的作风是所有支持熊猫队的球迷们永远不会对我们失望的根基。

下面回顾一下熊猫队这赛季的表现。在集训了3周后，小组赛前熊猫队专门参加了一个主办方组织的热身邀请赛，但第一场比赛熊猫队就1：9被去年的冠军斩下马，当然这场比赛是仅仅是绝大部分熊猫队员第一次适应室内场地。熊猫队在这场比赛结束之后，低调地踏上了联赛征程。

9/14/2009，熊猫队迎来了小组赛的首个对手，一只由韩国人组成的球队“Infinite Challenge”，面对这只去年的劲旅和恐韩症的阴影，熊猫队开场似乎很放不开，对于韩国人肮脏的踢脚后跟式的防守，在场上显得很拘谨。随着比赛的进行，火药味也越来越浓，但是熊猫队的一粒关键时刻的进球为大家吃了一颗定心丸，随后大家渐渐地适应了韩国人的节奏，比赛开始被熊猫队主导并在下半场开始阶段将比分扩大到了4：1。韩国队毕竟并秉承着他们国家队顽强的特点，在逆境中连扳2球，但在最后时刻熊猫队的又一粒入球彻底浇灭了韩国人的士气，熊猫队5：3取得了开门红。

9/21/2009，在面对“M4”这第二个小组赛对手，熊猫队在开场阶段人数暂时占优的情况下却并不顺利，以1：2落后，但是熊猫队还是依靠人数的优势和合理的战术换人最终拖垮了这支人员不整的M4队，以7：5取得了胜利。（以下为本场比赛片段）

9/28/2009，第三场比赛面对小组最弱的对手“Mufasa”，熊猫队的目标本来是争取更多的净胜球使得在淘汰赛阶段抽签时能够占据一个有利的种子席位，可惜的是对手记错了时间，比赛按对方弃权计算，裁判判熊猫队自动以3：0取得比赛胜利。这场胜利虽然保证了熊猫队的小组出线，但是在净胜球上让熊猫队吃了一个暗亏。（该队平均每场输球数目为10球以上，甚至以2：15败给小组第四的韩国队）

10/5/2009，熊猫队在打平就可出线的情况下仍然顽强地与第四个对手“The Green Boys”为球迷献上了一场惊心动魄的比赛，熊猫队在3：2领先的情况下，下半场倒数3分钟时被对手扳平比分，但刘滨亮在比赛结束前50秒时一记绝杀将对手击败。值得一提的是熊猫队的队长统爷本场比赛也打破了他的零出场纪录，并以一记妙传为队友创造出险些敲开对方大门的机会。至此，熊猫队在小组赛中以4战全胜的成绩名列第一顺利出线。（以下为本场比赛片段）

11/2/2009。经过将近一个月的休整，熊猫队于11月2日迎来了第一场淘汰赛的比赛，对手是第八小组的第三名“Jorts”，本场比赛熊猫队轻松地以11：1大胜，并且队长统爷在有限的上场时间内完成了本赛季全队唯一的一个帽子戏法。尤其值得一提的是统爷的第三粒入球，在对方门将出击之前背对球门转身凌空吊射，球在空中划出一记优美的弧线打死角入网，全场振奋，统爷在赛后接受采访时说：“不要迷恋哥，个只是个传说，哥只是站在了巨型熊猫的肩膀上，有此一遭完美的经历，就此退役也值了，但我才27岁，还是一个年轻球员。。。。”

11/6/2009，第二场淘汰赛中，熊猫队面对的对手是小组赛的手下败将“M4”，但这一次对方人员整齐，尤其是两位半职业级别前锋的加盟，给熊猫队造成了很大的麻烦，而更不利的是熊猫队主力后卫之一的李爽因毕业离开了南卡和球队。最终熊猫队以2：4在顽强拼搏了几乎正常的比赛的最后时刻不敌对手，面对对方粗野的拼抢，前锋刘滨亮甚至两次被抬出场。但熊猫队的表现却值得肯定，这场也是整个赛季以来熊猫队打得最漂亮的一场比赛，全场占据主动并且配合流畅，技战术素养也相当高，只是在身体上实在是抗不过橄榄球队员类型的对手，并且在防守协防上配合不默契，加上对方的偷袭又相当犀利，使得熊猫队止步16强。

凭心而论，熊猫队在这届比赛中表现很顽强，场上组织和配合也一场比一场成熟，作为队长和球队的见证者，从心底为熊猫队的成长和成熟感到高兴，也被球队的凝聚力感动。美中不足，熊猫队的协防总是做得不太充分，尽管我们的后卫在个人能力上很出众，但在防守时得不到有效的支持，很难守住对方的多点进攻，这是熊猫队现在需要总结的。

这是南卡大学近年来中国留学生首次代表全体华人组队参加校际联赛，也得到了广大同胞的支持，统爷在这里代表全体熊猫队队员感谢大家的支持，尤其是那几位每场比赛都来观战的球迷们，特别是那位每场比赛后都给队员们发巧克力的大哥！熊猫队虽然已经结束了本赛季的比赛，但是这支球队并没有解散，我们还将在下学期继续参加2010年USC春季学期的室外足球联赛，请大家继续给与我们支持！谢谢！

Friendly Soccer Game between Soccer T. & Basketball T. Saturday

There will be a friendly game tomorrow (Saturday, October 31st) between Soccer Team and the Chinese Basketball Society at 3:00pm, please come by 2:30pm to sign in on the report form, warm up and get familiar with the regulation if you want to play this formal game, as we noticed in the last email, this game will have formal referees, statistically documented and partly video taped.

Game is 7 vs 7, starts at 3:00pm with 40 minutes per half, 5 minutes for the half time break. For the Soccer Team side, we are trying to get the first-seven priority to the Pandas' indoor players, let them play for about 20 minutes in the first half (for the preparation of upcoming playoff indoor game on next Monday), then everybody else will have chance to play (even time).

We'll have our regular weekend game right after the friendly game.

A basketball friendly game has been scheduled by the Chinese Soccer Society and Basketball Society on Wednesday, October 21st. Two groups have a good relationship and have several dual players. After discussion, these two groups are going to play a soccer game after this basketball game.

We are doing great and also got an average sportsmanship rate 3.25 which is enough for us to go to the next level. We had 4-win-in-a-row and never lost any game during the group-level, it really gives us confidence, but don't be arrogant, the next game will be more tough, our next opponent for the playoff game is also a top 3 team from another group, so keep that in mind and be cautious. Also we still have potential to dig out.

Super Pandas!

Following the victory of beating Infinite Challenge (a Korean team) last Monday by 5:3, Pandas got their second win yesterday by beating M4 with 7:5. It was a tough game and Pandas got lost at the very beginning, but our guys kept teamwork in mind and avoided having physical plays with the strong opponent.

The Indoor Soccer team Fighting Pandas will have our first formal game tomorrow, it is a pre-season warm-up tournament. Pandas is automatically entered the semi-final game and will play with the winner of quarter game 2 (between Maven -a Korean team and Ubiquitos) at 8:15pm, then the winner of the semi-final will play final at 9:00pm.

USC Soccer Society now has its own group page on Spoccer.Com.

Spoccer.com is a free soccer resource, set up to bring some organization to pick-up soccer groups across the United States. Hopefully more people around the greater Columbia metropolitan area will join us through this window.

Currently the largest soccer group on this site now is located in Charleston, SC. Lud, one of Jiayu's friends and colleagues in USDA is a member of the Charleston group. According to Lud's introduction, the Charleston soccer group is open to everybody, and for fun, pick up, small goals, no referee, friendly atmosphere, yound/old, male/female... game location is at the aquarium in downtown Charleston. The Charleston group is our model and goal!

Farewell Game for Gao, 老高告别赛 - May 20th

The USC Chinese Soccer Team member, Jinxin Gao, was set to play his final game for the team last night in Columbia, South Carolina. Gao is on the point of completing a job move to Indianapolis, Indiana.

Gao was one of the first players to check in at the soccer field yesterday before the game and he gave a copy of the soccer skill video disk which he made earlier afternoon to Jiayu. Jiayu revealed that LaoGao's leave would be a tragedy for the team since Gao's ability of catching potential goal opportunities is what others do not have. He said: "Hopefully we'll recruit more talended players like Gao at the beginning of next semester, we will definitely miss Gao, our best friend."

Hongtao, attacking middler, engine of the team, pointed out "You may notice that everybody wear a white jersey or T-shirt today because of Gao, white is Gao's preferred one", and he added that "In my first two seasons at USC, we played together quite often, I never thought Gao is leaving us, but it comes true. I understand playing without Gao is gonna be a different challenge in my soccer career as well as in others, I believe, but we have to face it." Hongtao did sent Gao a memorable farewell gift as he assisted Gao's last score in his final game, Gao shined in his farewell game with 5 goals for his side.

"I would like to thank everyone for having this farewell game for me, that was an unforgettable moment in my soccer career." said Gao in an interview with USC Soccer Society.

南卡踢球者联盟消息，昨天（5月20日）下午老高在南卡大学田径场完成了他的告别赛，这是他搬家至印第安纳波利斯工作之前为球队踢的最后一场比赛，大家以告别赛的方式缅怀了对老高的思念，老高也不负众望，在告别赛中连中5元。

而立之年的老高，是最早南卡中国留学生球队的一员，凭借自己在门前把握机会的能力以及稳健的球风，颇受后辈们的尊重，老高的球德已被当成了典范并被当成各届入队新人的教文，老高也被称为影子杀手。

昨日老高早早地就来到了球场等候球友们送他最后一程。老高还专程刻录了一张过人技巧的光碟送给了本联盟通讯记者王佳羽同志，显露出老一辈无产阶级革命家对新人，尤其是技术底子较差的同志的栽培之心。佳羽在他的回忆录中写道：“在球场上，我和老高结下了深厚的战斗友谊，我的每一脚射门都能成为为老高送出的精准传球，而老高的每一脚射门，又能再次为我给他制造传球机会创造条件。这样，我们成了攻击线上不可分离的好搭档。我从未想到技术动作过人处理得慢也能成为球星，而老高给了我希望。”

球队中的中场发动机弘弢昨天显得格外伤心，一边擦眼泪一边擤鼻涕的他在场边接受采访时提到：“你也许已经注意到了，我向来不穿白色球衣踢球的，但今天不光是我，很多人都为老高穿了白，大家都是来送老高的。。。”，据悉，白色是老高贯穿的球衣颜色，今天大家都想在最后的这场比赛中跟老高并肩作战。弘弢放声大哭了一阵后微笑着补充道：“在过去的几年里，老高一直是我塞直传球的目标，现在老高走了，今后进攻我们的目标在哪里呢？”从弘弢迷茫的眼神中我们可以体会到大家对老高的怀念。而今天正是弘弢的一记助攻，老高完成了他为南卡大学踢球者队的最后一个进球。“我从未想过老高会离开我们，但现在我们必须接受这一现实，老高一路走好！”

老高在赛后接受采访时动情地说：“我要感谢党和人民以及这帮相濡以沫的弟兄长期以来对我的支持，今天也很感谢这么多人来参加我的告别赛，这是我职业生涯中永远忘不了的一刻”。

赛后大家在场边合影留念，纪念这一难忘的时刻。

老高，弘弢和朱涛因不同原因即将离开南卡大学和哥伦比亚，我们会永远怀念他们。我们的球队虽然会暂时失去一些优秀的球员，但是在即将到来的秋季希望会有更多的新鲜血液加入。近期我们会有几场告别赛为他们以及目前为止的同样会离开的同志，时间待定。

We are going to group a team to attend the 2009 Fall USC Indoor Soccer League in the coming fall semester.

The indoor game requires 5 players on the court and unlimited player switch, 20 minutes for each half, totally 40 minutes. Game time is usually 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center (The new gym).

We expect to have about 10 till 15 players to attend the game next semester, we are going to do well!!

下学期我们打算自己组队参加学校Campus Recreation部门办的室内足球联赛，每个组5只球队，我们能有4场小组赛，如果能得到小组前两名，我们能够参加上半区附加赛；如果得到小组后三名，我们参加下半区的附加赛（较差的球队附加赛）。

报名费是1块钱（每个球队$10注册费，因此参加者每人平摊$1），希望我们能够有10人左右！去年参加了一次，比较消耗体力，但是感觉其他参赛队的总体水平不如咱们经常一起踢球的大部分人，所以凭借咱们（除统爷我以外）的能力水平，相信我们一定能够走得更远！

另外我策反了我们系那个小土耳其高手，下赛季室内足球他会跟咱们队一起参赛。

Recruiting Notice for the USC Soccer Society

This is a recruiting notice for the USC Soccer Society. Some of you may know that the USC Soccer Society have been starting to play soccer every weekend (usually Saturday afternoon) regularly since 2000 or even earlier. Furthermore, we recently launched the weekday game and there will be soccer game on every Wednesday afternoon too (usually after 5:00pm depending on the sunset time).

The USC Soccer Society is composed by about 20 regular plays who come every time, and 10~15 infrequent players. We are one great family and welcomes fresh blood into the team every now and then, please come and join us if you like playing soccer. We play for Fun and Fitness Without Competition , so don't worry about anything. Although currently the main population of this soccer society are Chinese students, we are still a diversity group with people from the US, Thailand, Turkey and Hispanic countries.
